Wardrobe Mistress
HOW TO MANAGE YOUR WARDROBE

Here are the steps:

1. Pull out every item you have not worn in one year. Yes, every single item, no excuses! (They say we only wear about one third of our wardrobe anyway) Sort these items into two stacks...one for the resale shop and one for your local battered wives center...they will give you a tax write off for this too!

2. Sort clothing according to type: all blouses together, all pants together, dresses etc. Then hang those items back into groups in the closet and line them up dark colors first to light. You will not believe it! Your closet will look great instantly.

3. Now go back through the items and check for missing buttons, stains, falling hems, fraying sleeves etc. Take them to the tailor or repair them yourself.

4. Your best friend has to be brutally honest. She will have to tell you what is not working for you...get rid of it NOW! Let me tell you, when my clients wanted to hold on to something that was really beastly looking I would ask this simple question.
"Honey (I am from the south) would you wear this to meet your husband's old girlfriend for the first time?" I cannot tell you how swiftly she threw that old rag in the hefty bag!

5. Go through one more time now and think what new and trendy items you can use to update this present wardrobe. There are so many ways you can jazz up a black skirt and white blouse. (Every woman needs at least 2 wonderful white blouses and a great black skirt. Have you ever noticed that Carolina Herrera wears black and white at every fashion show?)

So pick up some fun and trendy pieces, a black and white poke-a-dot belt. Add some color and shine. Whatever "the" color of the season is use it to spice up your wardrobe. Accessorize with great shoes, a great bag, trendy jewelry...etc. It will not hurt your budget and make your wardrobe look fresh and new again!
